After 12 months of planning, our journey has finally begun. We spent the last week in Newcastle and Sydney catching up with family and friends and of course saying goodbye to Maple - a very sad occasion (Massive thanks to Steve, Jodie and Bret's Mum for taking care of her). The rest of the time was spent shopping, watching movies, early Christmas dinners and drinks, a trip to the city and for old times sake a visit to Warragamba Dam meant we were close to exhaustion even before we boarded the plane for the flight to Abu Dhabi.
The flight was, as you would expect it to be, cramped, long and with disappointing meals. Ben was most disappointed when he realised that the spacious seats at the front of the plane were not meant for the Parkinson’s. Ryan’s disappointment came when he realised his personal TV was not working. After 14 hours we were safely back on land.
We are now waiting at Abu Dhabi airport for the final leg of our journey. Another eight hours flying time and we will be in London.
Big thank u's must go out to Perry, Peter C, John, Yasna, Simon, Nigel, Peter O, Adam, the McKennas, my Mum, Dad and brother Rob, and especially Belinda (any future travellers - go see Belinda at Flight Centre - Seven Hills: best consultant in the business). Thanks again for helping to make this happen.
